Analysis of Social Interaction in Elderly Male Schizophrenia Patients in Mental Hospital
An Observational Study
Abstract
Social interaction plays an important role in the treatment of schizophrenia. Observations of people with schizophrenia show that they can participate in social interactions but have difficulty in managing conflict and emotions. Improving the ability of people with schizophrenia to manage their shocks and emotions through appropriate intervention pathways such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and social skills training. Evidence from psychiatric hospitalization shows that it is important for people with schizophrenia to build positive relationships, resolve conflicts, and maintain independence in social situations. Support from family, friends and community services is also needed to improve social functioning and quality of life for people with schizophrenia. This study suggests the development of more effective interventions to improve quality of life and social functioning in people with schizophrenia.
