Adaptasi pustakawan terhadap perubahan paradigma informasi
Tantangan dan strategi
Abstract
This article discusses various challenges and strategies faced by librarians in adapting to changes in the information paradigm. The study employs a literature review method, gathering data from written sources such as books and academic articles on librarian adaptation. The focus includes challenges in information management, security, and the development of digital libraries in Indonesia. Issues such as server limitations and workforce constraints underscore the need for technological investment. The growth of digital libraries needs to be accelerated by addressing technical obstacles and budget limitations. Key steps in library development include enhancing librarian skills, implementing automation systems, advocating for the profession, and promoting information literacy. Additionally, interlibrary collaboration for resource sharing is essential. To improve professionalism, ongoing education for librarians is crucial. Cooperation among librarians, the community, and the government is key to addressing these challenges, ranging from information security issues to optimal government support. Through a comprehensive approach, libraries are expected to play a more effective role in meeting community information needs and supporting the advancement of information technology in Indonesia.
