Analisis Analisis perbandingan Strategi Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) pada bank syariah dan konvensional studi kasus pada PT Bank Mandiri dan PT Bank Syariah Indonesia
Abstract
This study discusses a comparison of the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies between PT Bank Mandiri and PT Bank Syariah Indonesia, two large banking institutions in Indonesia that represent conventional banks and Islamic banks. With increasing awareness of sustainability in the banking industry, ESG is becoming an important framework for assessing bank performance based on its impact on the environment, social responsibility, and good governance. PT Bank Mandiri is more focused on the transition to a low-carbon economy with a commitment to achieve Net Zero Emission (NZE) by 2030. On the other hand, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia focuses on social justice and governance that is in line with sharia principles. This study uses a literature study method to explore the differences in the approach of each bank in integrating ESG and the challenges they face. The results show that PT Bank Mandiri is more progressive in dealing with climate change and technological innovation, while PT Bank Syariah Indonesia is more conservative with an emphasis on social values and sharia-based sustainable financial products
