Analisis strategi pencegahan praktik money politic dalam kehidupan demokrasi di Indonesia
Abstract
Elections are concrete evidence of the existence of popular democracy in Indonesia, but in their implementation there are still many violations. One of them is money politics. This research was conducted to analyze money political practices that occurred in the 2024 elections as well as to analyze the prevention of money political practices. The research method used is normative juridical, namely research carried out based on statutory regulations and related legal theories. The research results show that there are several factors causing money politics, including (1) money politics is considered to have become a political culture in Indonesia; (2) weak law enforcement officers; (3) weak faith possessed by both election participants and the community as voters; and (4) the high rate of poverty in Indonesia. Then preventing money politics can be done with two efforts, namely preventive and repressive. Preventive efforts are carried out by optimizing the administration of administrative sanctions and educating the public. Meanwhile, the repressive effort is to impose criminal sanctions in accordance with the actions that have been committed.
