Peran Kementerian Agama dalam Mendorong Sertifikasi Halal di Wilayah Kota Batu
Abstract
Indonesia's population is predominantly Muslim (87.18 percent) making the need for halal products very large. There is a need to guarantee halal products for products entering or circulating in Indonesia. Halal product guarantees in Indonesia are regulated by the Government through Regulations. The provisions of Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantees (JPH) require food products, drinks, slaughter products and slaughter services, raw materials, food additives and auxiliary materials for food and drink products. to be halal certified in October 2024, including for MSMEs. This article examines the role of the Ministry of Religion in facilitating and encouraging the implementation of halal certification in Batu City. In this context, the article highlights the efforts made by the Ministry of Religion to strengthen the halal certification system, as well as its impact on the food and beverage industry in the region. Understanding the important role of the Ministry of Religion as a supervisor and facilitator in the halal certification process is expected to provide a comprehensive picture of the government's efforts to meet consumers' increasing needs for halal products.
