Indonesia Asrama Bahasa sebagai Bi’ah Lughawiyyah Terhadap Peningkatan Kemampuan berbicara Bahasa Arab
Abstract
This study aims to describe a language program based on bi'ah lughawiyah as a medium to enhance Arabic language skills implemented at a language dormitory in Malang City, serving as a platform for developing an Arabic-speaking environment. The program includes a daily requirement to communicate in Arabic, vocabulary practice through social media and YouTube, speaking sessions using the Taqdimul Qishah method, and the use of the Duolingo app as a technology-based learning tool. This research employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation related to language activities in the dormitory. Primary data were obtained through direct observation, interaction with the female students (referred to as mahasantri), and reviewing program documents prepared by the dormitory’s language division. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observation, and documentation, enabling researchers to report findings comprehensively. The study results indicate that the dormitory has an effective program for developing an Arabic-speaking environment. The Bi'ah Lughawiyah program has proven effective in improving Arabic communication skills, expanding vocabulary, and boosting the confidence of mahasantri to actively communicate in Arabic within an environment that supports direct language practice.
