Analisis Fluktuasi Suhu Udara Berdasarkan Temperatur Suhu Kering dan Basah (Studi Kasus : Daerah Karangkates, Kabupaten Malang pada Juli 2024)
Abstract
Karangkates Village is one of the villages located in Malang Regency which is included in Sumberpucung District with coordinates 8° 9′ 17″ South Latitude, 112° 27′ 6″ East Longitude. In this village, there are also two dams, namely Sutami Dam and Lahor Dam. There are two large dams which are also sources of hydropower energy. The Sutami Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) in the Karangkates reservoir, Malang Regency is the largest in East Java. With the existence of important public facilities in this area, meteorological observations are needed, one of which is air temperature observations. If the air temperature is high at certain hours or days, it can speed up the rate of evaporation of water from reservoirs or dams. When water evaporates, the volume of water available to drive the turbine can decrease. This can be analyzed with data values that experience fluctuations, thus having an impact on dam water and hydroelectric power plants (PLTA) in the area. The causes of temperature fluctuations include sunlight, earth radiation, air humidity and lots of clouds. Fluctuations in air temperature around dams can have a significant impact on hydropower (Hydroelectric Power Plant) operations, especially in terms of water availability, electricity generation efficiency, and infrastructure maintenance.
