Parental intervention refers to parents who get involved in their child's household affairs. Parental intervention, even with good intentions, does not always have a positive impact. Excessive interference can actually endanger the child's household, potentially leading to divorce. One example of a case raised by the researcher is the case in the Trenggalek Religious Court number 696/Pdt.G/2024/PA.Trk. This research aims to understand the depiction of intervention events as a reason for divorce in case number 696/Pdt.G/2024/PA.Trk., and then the researcher will attempt to view it from a fiqh perspective. The type of research used is normative with a research approach, namely a case approach that refers to the ratio decidendi of the judge. Research results show that in case number 696/Pdt.G/2024/PA.Trk, parental intervention is indicated by parents who are indifferent to their son-in-law and often ask for money. In deciding a case, the judge's consideration after the reconciliation efforts by the judge were unsuccessful, namely: legal grounds for divorce, and evidence in the form of letters and witnesses. After being identified, the judge then granted the divorce petition by pronouncing one bain sugra talak to the defendant. In a fiqh review, it can be seen from one of the opinions of contemporary scholars, namely Quraish Shihab. He believes that parents can intervene in their children's household matters within certain limits, specifically when it is known that their children's household is deviating from religious teachings.
