Abstract

Indonesia, as a country with ethnic, religious and cultural diversity, faces challenges in creating social harmony. Tolerance, which emphasizes the importance of mutual respect for differences, plays an important role in maintaining social stability. The First Principle of Pancasila, "Belief in One Almighty God," teaches to respect the rights of every individual to practice their beliefs. This article discusses the application of the values of tolerance contained in the First Principles through a conceptual study, with the example of community life in Susuru Village, Ciamis, which reflects harmony between religious communities. In Susuru Village, people of different religions can live side by side peacefully, respect each other and work together. The application of the value of tolerance in the First Principle of Pancasila is very important to realize religious harmony and social harmony in Indonesia.
