Eksperimen pemuaian panjang pada benda padat: analisis faktor suhu dan material
Abstract
Elongational expansion is a change in the linear dimensions of a solid object due to changes in temperature. This research aims to analyze the length expansion of three materials, namely aluminum, brass and steel, by paying attention to the effect of temperature on length changes. Experiments were carried out by heating objects from the three materials over a certain temperature range and measuring changes in length using precision tools. Experimental results show that length expansion is strongly influenced by temperature and material type. Aluminum, with a high coefficient of expansion, experiences the greatest change in length, followed by brass and steel which have lower coefficients of expansion. These findings are important in engineering contexts, such as the design of bridges, railways and machinery, where changes in temperature can affect structural integrity. This research strengthens understanding of the thermal behavior of solid materials and its applications in various industrial fields.
