Abstract

Law as a tool for social control plays a crucial role in maintaining order and balance within society. The primary function of law in this context is to regulate the behavior of individuals through established rules and sanctions. With the presence of law, individuals are expected to act in accordance with prevailing norms and values, thereby fostering a sense of security and social order. As a tool for social control, law functions to prevent harmful behavior and resolve conflicts. It also serves as a means of enforcing justice, ensuring that every individual has equal rights and obligations under the law. Law not only regulates interactions between individuals but also governs the relationship between citizens and the government, ensuring that the fundamental rights of citizens are protected. Essentially, law acts as a guideline to distinguish what is permissible and what is not, with the hope of fostering awareness and social responsibility among members of society.
