Abstract This study focuses on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on students’ intelligent thinking patterns, especially in the context of higher education. AI has evolved into an important tool in the learning process, increasing effectiveness and efficiency through adaptive learning systems, virtual assistants, and automated assessment tools. This study found that the use of AI can strengthen critical and analytical thinking skills, and encourage flexibility of thinking among students. However, on the other hand, excessive reliance on this technology has the potential to hinder creativity and deep thinking skills, as students often seek quick solutions. Through a mixed-method approach that combines quantitative and qualitative analysis, this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the benefits and challenges faced in the use of AI in education. The results of the study provide strategic recommendations to maximize the benefits of AI while maintaining students' cognitive abilities, thereby supporting the development of adaptive and creative thinking patterns.
