Indonesia, with its extraordinary cultural diversity, prossesses complex and dynamic national identity. Art and culture play asignificant role in shaping and strengthening this identity, surpassing the influence of mere political and economic factors. This journal examines how traditional art and culture preserve and transmit the core values that from the foundation of national identity. These traditional works are not merely entertainment, but also serve as educational and social tools, reinforcing the bonds of unity. Furthemore, contemporary art and cultur, including modern visual art, reflect social dynamics and contribute to the formation of identity in innovative ways. Although distinct from tradition, contemporary ary remains crucial in expressing reality and strengthening a sense of national belonging.
