Strategi Geopolitik Indonesia dalam Mewujudkan Poros Maritim Dunia
Abstract
Geopolitics is a field of study that integrates geographical and political dimensions in the strategic decision-making processes of a state. Since it was first introduced by Friedrich Ratzel and later developed by scholars such as Rudolf Kjellén and Halford Mackinder, geopolitics has become an essential instrument for understanding international interactions, particularly in terms of territorial competition, resource control, and power dynamics. Indonesia, as the world’s largest archipelagic country located strategically between the Indian and Pacific Oceans, holds significant geopolitical value. Its abundant natural resources, strategic international trade routes, and position as a maritime crossroads among major countries make Indonesia a key player in both regional and global affairs. However, this strategic position also poses various challenges, including threats to sovereignty, maritime security, and illegal resource exploitation. Through a geopolitical approach, Indonesia is expected to formulate effective national strategies to safeguard its sovereignty and strengthen national interests amid the growing intensity of global competition.
