Peran bahasa dan sastra arab dalam membentuk identitas kekhalifahan Islam
Abstract
The identity of the Islamic Caliphate was heavily influenced by Arabic language and literature. Arabic became a tool for unifying culture and politics across the various Islamic territories as a language of revelation and a means of official communication. Arabic literature, both scholarly and poetic, created religious, political, and social narratives that supported the Caliphate. The purpose of this study is to investigate the various ways in which Arabic language and literature have been used to shape the identity of the Islamic Caliphate over time. By looking at primary texts and the context of the Caliphate, a historical and cultural approach is used to conduct the study. The study shows that Arabic language and literature not only functioned as a means of communication but also functioned as a representation of Islamic civilization and power.
