Analisis risiko pembiayaan pada bank syariah indonesia (bsi): strategi mitigasi
Abstract
This study analyzes the financing risks faced by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and evaluates the mitigation strategies applied to ensure financial stability and compliance with Sharia principles. BSI, as the largest Islamic bank in Indonesia, is exposed to various risks including credit risk, moral hazard, and market fluctuations due to its unique Sharia-based financing contracts such as murabahah, musyarakah, and mudharabah. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research explores institutional practices and structural frameworks in risk management at BSI. The findings show that BSI employs integrated mitigation strategies, including digital scoring systems for credit assessment, the formation of Sharia Compliance Units, risk-based portfolio diversification, and the implementation of Early Warning Systems (EWS). Furthermore, the bank's response to external shocks, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic through financing restructuring programs, reflects its dual commitment to financial resilience and social responsibility (maslahah). The study concludes that BSI's risk management framework is adaptive, technology-driven, and grounded in Islamic ethics, which distinguishes it from conventional banking institutions. These findings can serve as a reference for improving risk governance in Islamic financial institutions globally.
