Kesenjangan akses pendidikan digital di daerah 3T (tertinggal, terdepan, dan terluar)
Abstract
Digital transformation in education in Indonesia presents serious challenges, especially in the 3T regions (Underdeveloped, Frontier, and Outermost areas), which still face significant limitations in terms of digital infrastructure, technological devices, and digital literacy. This gap widens the disparity in education quality between the 3T regions and more technologically advanced urban areas. The main factors causing this gap include unstable and uneven internet access, limited availability of devices, and low digital competence among teachers and students. Additionally, unfavorable socio-economic conditions exacerbate the situation, resulting in low motivation and participation of students in digital learning. The tangible impacts of this gap are the decline in education quality, unequal learning opportunities, and high dropout rates in the 3T regions. However, various opportunities and strategic solutions have been initiated, such as affirmative government policies, multi-sector collaboration, strengthening local capacities through digital literacy training, and innovations in learning technologies that can operate without internet connectivity. An inclusive and sustainable approach tailored to local conditions is key to reducing the digital divide and achieving equitable national education quality. With the right strategies, digitalization of education can become an effective tool to improve access and quality of education throughout Indonesia, including the 3T regions.
