The Article Aceh dan Diplomasi Budaya Dunia Islam
Studi Geopolitik atas Peran Aceh dalam Jaringan Internasional Islam
Abstract
Aceh memegang peran strategis dalam sejarah penyebaran Islam di Asia Tenggara. Pada abad ke-16–17, Kesultanan Aceh Darussalam membangun jaringan diplomatik dan intelektual dengan kekuatan Islam global seperti Ottoman, Gujarat, dan Arab, sehingga dijuluki "Serambi Mekkah". Kini, Aceh adalah satu-satunya wilayah di Indonesia yang menerapkan hukum syariah secara legal, memperkuat posisinya sebagai representasi Islam lokal yang menarik perhatian dunia Muslim. Penerapan syariah juga menjadi instrumen diplomasi budaya, terlihat melalui partisipasi Aceh dalam forum internasional dan kolaborasi dakwah dengan negara Muslim. Penelitian ini menganalisis diplomasi budaya Aceh melalui pendekatan geopolitik dan soft power (Nye) dengan metode kualitatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan Aceh memiliki modal kultural kuat, tetapi perannya belum terintegrasi maksimal dalam kebijakan luar negeri Indonesia karena citra negatif syariah, isu HAM, dan minimnya dukungan diplomasi nasional. Namun, Aceh tetap berpotensi memperkuat posisi Indonesia di dunia Islam. Untuk mengoptimalkan peran Aceh, diperlukan kolaborasi antara pemerintah pusat-daerah, tokoh agama, dan masyarakat sipil. Aceh dapat dikembangkan sebagai pusat pendidikan Islam, studi perdamaian, dan wisata syariah yang merepresentasikan Islam moderat Indonesia. Dengan demikian, warisan sejarah Aceh tidak hanya simbol kejayaan masa lalu, tetapi juga peluang membangun solidaritas Islam global yang inklusif.
