The management of waste, especially used cooking oil is drawing growing attention amid increasing concern for sustainable development in Indonesia. Digital platforms like Rekosistem offer an innovative solution for responsible and efficient waste handling. This article explores how legally grounded economic policies can enhance the effectiveness of systems like Rekosistem in addressing used oil waste. Using a normative and conceptual approach based on law No. 32/2009, this study highlights the urgent need to integrate digital waste management solutions with fair and firm economic regulation. Key challenges include weak oversight, insufficient sanctions, and inadequate economic incentives. Therefore, synergy between robust legal frameworks and digital innovation is essential for sustainable used oil waste management.
