Gawai dan merosotnya semangat belajar
Studi kasus di man kota Batu
Abstract
Advances in digital technology have brought various changes in the world of education. One of them is the existence of mobile phones that have now become part of students' daily lives, including in madrasah environments such as MAN Kota Batu. Mobile phones have positive potential as digital learning media, such as quick access to information, online discussion platforms, and various educational applications. However, the reality on the ground shows that these benefits are often not maximally utilized by students. At MAN Kota Batu itself, there are indications that excessive use of cellphones for non-academic activities such as social media, online games, and visual entertainment causes a decrease in learning motivation. This decline is characterized by a lack of active participation in class, increased lateness in submitting assignments, and a decline in students' academic grades in general. This article presents the results of observations and interviews with teachers and students, as well as a review of school policies regarding the use of mobile phones. From the results of the author's study, it can be concluded that the dominance of the use of cell phones for entertainment has weakened students' concentration on learning, academic enthusiasm, and responsibility in undergoing the educational process. Therefore, there is a need for a strategy to manage the use of mobile phones wisely in the school and home environment, as well as a more interesting pedagogical approach so that students remain actively involved in learning.
