Analyzing of Language Style in the Song Blue by Yung Kai
Abstract
languages. From Sabang to Merauke, there are approximately 700 languages. In a stylistic context, language has another meaning, namely language that has implied meanings within it. The process of creating images, associations, or other effects within the meaning of language is referred to as figurative language. This study aims to analyze the figurative language present in the song “Blue” by Yung Kai, released on August 2, 2024. This song was chosen by the researcher due to its popularity among teenagers who use TikTok. This study explores how figurative language can enhance the aesthetic and emotional impact of a song. The method used is descriptive qualitative, applying Johnson and Arp's (2018) theory in the song analysis process. The findings of this study reveal seven instances of figurative language, including metaphors, personification, symbolism, and hyperbole. Based on the analysis of meaning, figurative language represents messages in both spoken and written form. The presence of figurative language in a song significantly influences the creation of beautiful meaning, conveys implied messages, and builds an emotional connection with the song's listeners.
