Abstract

The development of religion and spirituality in adulthood and old age is an important aspect of human life that influences thought patterns, decision-making, and psychological well-being. This study aims to analyze how religion and spirituality develop from early adulthood to old age, as well as how external factors such as the social environment and life experiences influence this development. Based on the study of Charlotte Bühler's theory and the existential-humanistic approach, it was found that individuals experience three main stages in their spiritual development: the search for meaning and integration of spiritual values in early adulthood, reflection and spiritual deepening in middle adulthood, and transcendence and end-of-life preparation in old age. These findings indicate that religion plays a role not only in an individual's personal life but also in shaping social identity, creating emotional balance, and providing peace in facing life's changes.
