Landasan Epistemologi Ilmu
Abstract
Epistemology is a main branch of philosophy that focuses on the study of the origins, processes, and limits of knowledge. This article aims to review the foundations of epistemology in the context of scientific knowledge. The discussion begins with the definition of epistemology as a discipline that explores what is considered knowledge, as well as the criteria used to determine truth. Furthermore, this article identifies several epistemological problems that arise, such as numerous questions related to the nature of knowledge, sources of knowledge, and the truth about knowledge. On the other hand, epistemological methods are also discussed, including the approaches used to acquire and test knowledge. With a deeper understanding of these epistemological foundations, we can be more critical in evaluating scientific claims and strengthening the foundations of existing scientific theories.
