The Urgency of Digital Literacy in Facing Artificial Intelligence Disruption
Keywords:

The rapid development of digital technology, particularly through the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI), has brought about major changes in the way humans access, process, and disseminate information. The presence of AI provides opportunities to improve efficiency in system automation and information retrieval, but it also poses challenges in the form of information overload, disinformation, algorithmic bias, and ethical and privacy issues. This situation requires society to have digital literacy that not only focuses on technical skills but also includes critical, adaptive, reflective, and ethical thinking skills. This article was compiled using qualitative methods through a literature study that examined the relationship between digital literacy, artificial intelligence, and the role of both in the formation of an information society. The results of the study show that digital literacy is an important adaptive skill for dealing with AI technology disruption, particularly in the fields of education and information media. Digital literacy serves as a critical filter against manipulative information, as ethical awareness in maintaining data security and avoiding plagiarism, and as the foundation for the realization of an intelligent, innovative, and ethical information society. Therefore, digital literacy is a key competency that must be continuously strengthened so that society does not merely become consumers of technology, but also active, critical, and responsible producers of information, while being prepared to face the Society 5.0 era, which emphasizes harmony between technological advancement and human values.
