Implementasi prinsip syariah dalam perbankan islam: tantangan dan peluang
Abstract
This study discusses the application of sharia principles in banking in Indonesia as well as the challenges and opportunities faced in its development. Sharia banking is a financial system based on Islamic principles, such as the prohibition of riba (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maisir (gambling). As an alternative to the interest system used in conventional banking, Islamic banking adopts a contract and profit-sharing system through mechanisms such as mudharabah and musyarakah. This system emphasizes the principles of fairness, transparency, and partnership between banks and customers. However, the implementation of Islamic banking still faces a number of significant challenges. Among them are the limited number of human resources who understand Islamic economics, uneven infrastructure, and low public literacy regarding Islamic financial products. In addition, the public's perception of not fully understanding the differences between Islamic and conventional banks is also a separate obstacle.
