Relevansi semboyan Bhinneka Tunggal Ika dalam sejarah perumusan Pancasila
Abstract
The motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) holds a profound philosophical meaning as the foundation of Indonesia’s unity within diversity. It serves not only as a national emblem but also plays a crucial role in the formulation of Pancasila as the nation’s ideological foundation. This study aims to examine the relevance of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika values to the historical development of Pancasila and their implications for national life in the modern era. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method through library research, drawing upon various nationally indexed journals. The findings indicate that values such as tolerance, deliberation, mutual cooperation, and unity embodied in Bhinneka Tunggal Ika form the moral basis of Pancasila’s formulation. However, in the current era of globalization and digitalization, these values have gradually diminished due to integrity crises, intolerance, and weak character education. Therefore, revitalizing Bhinneka Tunggal Ika through education, moral leadership, and strengthened Pancasila literacy is essential to preserve national unity and moral integrity.
