Dinamika Konflik dan Konsensus dalam Sejarah Perumusan Pancasila
Abstract
This study examines the dynamics of ideological conflict and the pursuit of consensus in the formulation of Pancasila as the foundation of the Indonesian state. Using a qualitative historical approach, the study examines the debate between Islamic and secular groups regarding the foundation of the state during the BPUPKI session, and how this conflict resulted in a compromise that prioritized national unity. Pancasila emerged as the result of lengthy deliberations that embraced diversity and became a symbol of inclusivity and national unity amidst Indonesia's socio-political complexity. The results of this study emphasize the importance of the values of deliberation and compromise in maintaining Pancasila's relevance as a state foundation that is flexible and tolerant of changing times and cultural diversity. This study also recommends strengthening civic education to instill a spirit of unity and the values of Pancasila, as well as the need for open dialogue in national life to face the challenges of globalization and societal plurality. Thus, Pancasila remains the primary foundation for building a just, prosperous, and united nation.
