Abstract

Green concrete is an innovation in the construction industry aimed at reducing the negative impact on the environment through the utilization of industrial and domestic waste materials as substitutes in concrete mixtures. This study aims to examine the potential of waste materials such as fly ash, slag, recycled plastic, and glass as partial replacements for cement or aggregates in concrete. The research method used is a literature review from various previous studies, including works by lecturers at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The findings show that the use of waste materials can improve the mechanical performance of concrete, while also reducing carbon emissions and the volume of waste disposed. This article recommends the wider application of green concrete in construction projects in Indonesia and further research on field-scale implementation.
