Analisis Kontrastif Bunyi Arab–Indonesia: Kasus Pelafalan Penutur Arab di youtube

Phonological differences between Arabic and Indonesian create various interference phenomena when native Arabic speakers speak Indonesian. This study aims to describe the phonemic changes that occur, identify the factors that cause them, and examine the forms of pronunciation errors seen in a YouTube video of an Arabic speaker promoting his merchandise in Indonesian. The study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach and contrastive analysis methods. The analysis results show that the absence of several phonemes, particularly /p/ in Arabic, encourages Arabic speakers to replace them with the most similar phoneme, namely /b/. In addition, pronunciation disorders in vowels, syllable stress, and sound quality also occur due to the phonological characteristics of Arabic. These findings reinforce the idea that differences in phonological systems between languages give rise to understandable interference patterns and have important implications for language teaching, applied linguistics, and cross-linguistic phonetic studies.
