AI Ethics: Autonomy and Responsibility in Moral Philosophy
Autonomy and Responsibility in Moral Philosophy
Abstract
The development of artificial intelligence technology has revolutionized various aspects of human life, especially in the realm of ethics and morality. This artcle provides guidance for an in-depth examination of two crucial questions that arise with the advancement of AI : autonomy and moral accountability. First, we will look at whether AI can be recognized as morally independent, that is, whether AI can make its own ethical choices. This idea is in stark contrast to what we commonly think about actions and consciousness in moral philosophy. Second, this artcle discusses who should be blamed when AI causes harm or instability. By looking at examples of difficult moral situations that AI my face, this article aims to determine the limits of human responsibility.
