Pentingnya konseling obat dan pelayanan kesehatan terhadap kepatuhan pasien
Abstract
Drug counseling is a crucial component of modern pharmacy practice because it plays a direct role in improving patient understanding, awareness, and adherence to therapy. Pharmacists are required to possess effective communication skills to convey drug information clearly, accurately, and in accordance with the patient's health literacy level. However, counseling practices in the field still face various challenges, such as limited numbers of pharmacists, a lack of adequate counseling rooms, and minimal active patient participation. This article discusses the urgency of drug counseling, barriers to implementation, and strategies to increase its effectiveness through strengthening pharmacists' communication skills, providing supportive facilities, utilizing structured counseling methods, and policies that promote service standards. Collaborative efforts between pharmacists, healthcare facilities, policymakers, and patients are expected to improve the success of therapy and the overall quality of healthcare services.
