Pendidikan Karakter di Indonesia

Abstract

Character education needs to be the main focus of teachers in Indonesia in order to improve the quality of education. In addition, education should also be directed towards developing independent and responsible students. This is important considering the emergence of various issues that conflict with the values, norms, and morals of society. Many of the perpetrators of these deviations come from the younger generation, especially school-age children. Character education in the school environment is needed to apply school cultural values. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach by collecting material to be discussed. The material that has been read will be linked to the topic to be discussed and presented again in the form of a description. The findings of this study reveal that one way to develop a high-quality generation is by developing character education. The process of developing these values is to apply the values of good character, manners, and noble morals in students. This is to shape individuals who are honest, respect others, and behave well in their daily lives by applying educational values.
