The This study examines the relevance of Qur'an Surah Al-Anbiya verse 30 to modern cosmology, particularly the Big Bang theory, which explains the origin of the universe. The verse is often understood as an indication of the universe’s initial state of unity (ratq) followed by a process of separation (fataq). Differences in interpretation regarding the extent to which this verse corresponds to modern scientific discoveries have generated ongoing debates between religious and scientific perspectives. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the meaning of Surah Al-Anbiya verse 30 through a tahlili interpretative approach by considering linguistic aspects, historical context, and the views of classical and contemporary Qur'anic exegetes, and then comparing them with fundamental concepts of modern cosmology. The research method employed is a qualitative literature review, examining classical and modern Qur'anic commentaries, academic works on cosmology, and relevant scientific studies. The findings indicate that the concepts of ratq and fataq in the verse can be understood as a general description of the early cosmic process of creation, rather than as a detailed or technical scientific explanation. This study emphasizes that the Qur'an is not a scientific textbook, but a source of guidance containing cosmological signs (ayat kauniyyah) that encourage reflection, intellectual inquiry, and contemplation of the universe. Consequently, the relationship between revelation and science should not be perceived as contradictory, but as complementary, where revelation provides meaning and purpose, while science explains natural phenomena empirically. This integrative perspective strengthens theological understanding, supports responsible scientific development, and fosters deeper awareness of the greatness of Allah SWT through the study of the universe.
