This study aims to analyze the sound structure in the shalawat poem “Li Khomsatun Uṭfi Bihā” from the perspective of Arabic Phonology (‘Ilmu Aṣhwat). As a popular religious text, this shalawat not only contains spiritual value but also phonetic richness that strengthens its rhetorical power. The approach used is phonological, focusing on transcription and analysis of segmental phonemes (al-fūnīmāt al-Qaṭ‘iyyah) and the implications of suprasegmental features (al-fūnīmāt fawqa al-Qaṭ‘iyyah). The results of the study show that the phonological structure of this shalawat is very rich, consisting of 28 consonants and 6 vowels (short and long). The presence of phonemes unique to Arabic, such as the Pharyngeal Fricative (/ħ/) in ħarr and Emphatic Consonants (/ṭ/, /ṣ/, /ḍ/) in al-Muṣṭafā and al-Murtaḍā, proved crucial. These phonemes not only serve to distinguish lexical meanings (such as the difference between /t/ and /ṭ/), but also add a sacred and assertive nuance to the text, reinforcing the rhetorical power of the prayer of protection. Aesthetically, the combination of long vowels (madd) and nasal consonants produces a soft melody, while gemination (/rr/ in ħarr) provides intensity. The conclusion of this study confirms that the careful phonological structure in the shalawat “Li Khomsatun Uṭfi Bihā” is a fundamental element that binds linguistic accuracy (meaning differentiation) with spiritual and aesthetic values, making it a relevant object of study in Arabic linguistics.
