Abstract

Mass circumcision initiatives reflect the mosque’s social function in supporting community welfare by extending its activities beyond religious worship to include social services, economic assistance, and religious education. This program was conducted by Darul Istiqomah Mosque in Polowijen, Malang City, as part of the mosque’s anniversary celebration and as a form of social responsibility toward the surrounding community. The study applied a quantitative research approach using a four-point Likert scale questionnaire distributed to the parents or guardians of the participants. The results reveal that the program had a positive impact on strengthening social solidarity, reducing families’ healthcare costs, and increasing public awareness of religious and health-related values. Consequently, mosque-based mass circumcision programs should be sustained and further developed as sustainable community service initiatives.
