Efektivitas program posyandu dalam menurunkan risiko stunting di desa Pandansari Lor
Abstract
Stunting remains a major public health concern that significantly affects the quality of human resources, particularly in terms of physical growth, cognitive development, and future productivity. Integrated Health Service Posts (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu/Posyandu) serve as the frontline of community-based healthcare by implementing promotive and preventive strategies to prevent stunting from an early age. This community engagement program aimed to optimize the function of Posyandu through integrated health services and nutrition education in Pandansari Lor Village. The program involved 54 participants, including mothers of under-five children, health cadres, and family members. Activities included growth monitoring through weight and height measurements, vitamin supplementation, and health and nutrition counseling. The results indicated high community participation and increased parental awareness regarding the importance of regular growth monitoring. Although several challenges were identified, such as low initial awareness and limited cadre capacity, these issues were addressed through persuasive approaches, door-to-door socialization, and cadre training. Overall, Posyandu proved to be an effective integrated healthcare platform that supports stunting prevention efforts. In the long term, the program is expected to promote healthier family behaviors, improve children’s nutritional status, and contribute to the development of healthier, more productive future generations.
