Optimalisasi tanaman obat keluarga (TOGA) sebagai upaya pemberdayaan kesehatan dan kemandirian masyarakat
Abstract
Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) are a form of natural resource utilization that plays a role in supporting community health independence. TOGA can be used as an alternative traditional medicine for minor illnesses as well as a means of family health education. In addition, the development of TOGA plants contributes to household economic empowerment through the processing of herbal products with commercial value. This article aims to examine the role of TOGA plants in improving public health and strategies for their optimization. The method used is a literature study from scientific journals on official guidelines. The results of the study show that TOGA plants are effective in supporting promotive and preventive health efforts, but their implementation is still hampered by low public literacy and a lack of guidance. Continuous education is needed for TOGA plant programs to run optimally. With the support of various parties, TOGA plant programs are expected to become a sustainable solution in improving the health and welfare of families.
