This study aims to examine the pesantren tradition as a system of values and practices in Islamic education, encompassing intellectual, ethical, spiritual, and social dimensions. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method by analyzing relevant literature. The findings indicate that the pesantren tradition is a holistic system that not only focuses on knowledge transmission but also on the character development of santri (students). This tradition is reflected in the study of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), learning methods such as sorogan and bandongan, moral education, as well as the concept of barakah and the spiritual-emotional relationship between kiai and santri. Furthermore, pesantren demonstrate adaptability to modern developments through the integration of formal education, the use of technology, and the strengthening of multicultural values while maintaining their traditional identity. Therefore, pesantren remain relevant as dynamic Islamic educational institutions that preserve intellectual traditions and produce morally grounded, knowledgeable, and socially aware generations.
