Studi fenomenologi ikatan emosional mahasiswa perantau asal Jawa Barat di UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang
Abstract
The presence of migrant students in a community with a strong local fan base creates a unique dynamic in maintaining identity. This study examines how students from West Java studying at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang maintain their support for Persib Bandung, despite being separated by considerable geographical distance. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this study explores the experiences of three students from Sumedang and Cianjur in depth. The results reveal that digital space plays a crucial role as a means of transcending territorial boundaries through activities such as watching matches online. Furthermore, their identity as Bobotoh is adaptively demonstrated while away from home through the use of symbols and the Sundanese language, while maintaining social etiquette towards the local community. This loyalty is seen as an "identity legacy" formed through the process of family socialization, while also serving as an emotional bridge that strengthens the cultural identity of "Urang Sunda" in the land of exile.
