Hearing the term Islamic Boarding School is not uncommon in Indonesia. The typical teachings of Islamic boarding schools are even deeply ingrained in the Indonesian people themselves, especially among students who have received direct education at Islamic Boarding Schools. Islamic boarding schools are always synonymous with dormitories that are used as residences for students who are waiting in line at the Pondok. Along with the times, traditional wood-based Islamic boarding school buildings are very rare. Of course, the main reason that is often problematic is related to the strength and durability of building structures that rely on traditional wood. In the stigma of the community, buildings with concrete compositions have more qualified structural strength and durability compared to traditional wood-based buildings. This article focuses on analyzing the durability and strength of traditional wood-based building structures based on test data that is in line with the focus of Civil Engineering science. With this research, it is hoped that it will be a reference in creating an environmentally friendly method that can be developed in the construction of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia.
