Abstract
This study examines the fiqh principle of al-darar yuzal (الضَّرَرُ يُزَالُ) and its derivations in the practice of state life with a focus on how the principle of eliminating harm can be applied in public policy. The main problem in this study is how the basic concept of the principle and its branches can be implemented relevantly in the context of a modern state to ensure justice and the welfare of society. This study uses a normative legal method with a conceptual, statutory, and philosophical approach and is supported by a literature study of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal sources. The results of the study indicate that the principle of al-darar yuzal is a fundamental principle in Islamic law originating from the Qur'an and hadith, especially the hadith la darar wa la dirar and has a number of branch rules that provide technical guidelines in eliminating harm. In state practice. This principle is relevant as a basis for formulating public policies oriented towards protecting society from harm and injustice. Therefore, this principle has not only theoretical value but also practical application in supporting just and welfare-oriented governance.
