Abstract

The rapid development of Islamic banking requires proper management, especially in the distribution of financing. One of the main risks faced by Islamic banks is credit risk or non-performing financing, which can affect the financial stability of the bank. Therefore, the implementation of effective credit risk management is necessary to ensure that financing activities run optimally and remain stable. This study aims to understand the concept of credit risk management, examine its implementation process, and analyze its role in maintaining the stability of financing in Islamic banks. The method used is a literature study by reviewing various journals and reference sources relevant to the research topic. The results show that credit risk management plays a very important role in maintaining the quality of financing. The risk management process is carried out through several stages, namely risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and control. In addition, the application of the prudential principle, feasibility analysis of customers, and financing diversification are also strategies used to minimize risk. In conclusion, the proper implementation of credit risk management can maintain financing stability, reduce the level of non-performing financing, and increase public trust in Islamic banks.
