Indonesia di persimpangan dunia : geopolitik, kepentingan, dan strategi
Abstract
Indonesia is situated in a very important geographical location as an archipelagic country located between two continents and two oceans, making it a key point in trade, politics and world security. In the current geopolitical context, the Indo-Pacific region is in the spotlight, particularly due to the increasing rivalry between the United States and China. This situation places Indonesia in a unique position which is very important, both as a balancing party and as a country that feels the direct impact of changes in the world order. By adopting an independent and active foreign policy, Indonesia seeks to maintain national sovereignty while contributing to regional stability. Strong involvement in ASEAN strengthens Indonesia’s position in facing various regional challenges, including maritime security issues and conflicts in the South China Sea. On the other hand, Indonesia’s national interests include defense, economy, energy, and diplomacy, which must be managed in a balanced manner. By implementing a flexible strategic approach, Indonesia is expected to be able to leverage its geographical position as an influential geopolitical power. Therefore, it is important to develop a comprehensive geopolitical strategy in order to face global challenges and maximize opportunities international scene.
