Detoxification of the heart is a process of purifying the heartfrom various mental illnesses such as riya'(riya'), hasad (envy), arrogant (arrogance), ujub (self-centeredness), and excessive love of the world that can affect a person's spiritual and psychological condition. This study aims to examine the concept of detoxification of the heart from an Islamic mental health perspective and analyze its implementation through the practice of riyāḍah (self-expression) of students in Islamic boarding schools. The method used is library research with a descriptive-analytical approach to primary and secondary sources such as the Qur'an, Sufism books, and scientific journals. The results of the study indicate that the practices of tauba, dhikr (remembrance), muhasabah (introspection), and riyāḍah al-nafs (self-expression) contribute to improving an individual's spiritual, emotional, and moral balance. Thus, detoxification of the heart can be a relevant psychospiritual approach in maintaining Islamic mental health
