Mengetuk pintu langit hukum
Nasib suara rakyat yang terbentur tembok kekuasaan
Abstract
Law is expected to protect every person equally without seeing social status, wealth, or political power. In reality, many public voices still struggle to obtain justice when facing groups that hold authority and influence. This condition has slowly reduced public trust in legal institutions because the law is often viewed as strict toward ordinary people but weaker toward powerful parties. Such situations show that law enforcement has not fully reflected the values of justice and democracy. This study aims to examine the connection between law, power, and the position of society within state life. The study uses a qualitative approach through the review of social realities, legal ideas, and conditions related to law enforcement in Indonesia. The discussion shows that political influence and power interests may weaken the independence of legal institutions, causing public rights to be insufficiently protected. Weak supervision, limited transparency, and certain political interests also widen the distance between law and fairness. Therefore, a cleaner and more independent legal system is needed so that justice can be felt equally by society. Fair law enforcement is also important to rebuild public confidence and support a healthier democratic life.
