Manajemen pendidikan pesantren dalam membentuk karakter santri

This study aims to examine the management of pesantren education in holistically shaping the character of santri (students). As Indonesia's oldest Islamic educational institution, pesantren plays a strategic role in instilling religious, moral, and social values in younger generations. Effective management in the pesantren environment encompasses character-based curriculum planning, human resource development, and the administration of student guidance programs. A systematic literature review method was employed, drawing on scientific articles from the repository of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The findings indicate that integrative pesantren educational management combining transformational leadership approaches, Islamic value-based guidance programs, and the use of modern technology is proven effective in forming santri characters that are religious, moderate, and competitive. Character formation is achieved not only through classical Islamic text instruction but also through behavioral habituation, exemplary conduct of kyai, and religious moderation programs. This study concludes that planned and value-based educational management serves as the primary foundation for producing santri with outstanding character.
