Peran wakaf dan zakat: dalam pembiayaan pendidikan berkelanjutan di era modern

Education is one of the important factors in developing human resources and improving social welfare. However, the high cost of education and the inequality of access to education remain major challenges, especially for underprivileged communities. This study aims to analyze the role of zakat and waqf as inclusive and sustainable educational financing instruments in the modern era. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a library research approach through collecting data from journals, books, and various relevant scientific sources. The results of the study indicate that zakat and waqf have great potential in supporting educational financing through scholarships, educational assistance, development of educational facilities and infrastructure, and the development of educational institutions. In addition, productive waqf and cash waqf can become sustainable long-term funding sources. However, the management of zakat and waqf still faces various challenges, such as low public literacy, less optimal governance, and limited use of digital technology.
