This article is literature review discussing the use of biosorbents derived from agricultural waste to reduce heavy metal pollution and its impact on environmental health. The method used is a review of various scientific journals. The results show that agricultural wastes such as corn stalks, rice husks, and coconut shells have high potential as biosorbents due to their lignocellulosic content, which plays a role in adsorption efficiency. In addition, the use of wasted-based biosorbents supports environmentally friendly and sustainable approaches. The utilization of biosorbents derived from agricultural waste also has the potential of reduce the amount of organic waste disposed into the environment and increase the value of waste into more useful products. In addition, the application of biosorbents can help minimize the risk of water and soil pollution caused by industrial and household activities, thereby providing positive impacts on overall public health quality. The study is expected to serve as a reference for the development of sustainable natural-based waste treatment technologies.
