Integrasi matematika dan al-qur’an perspektif pemikiran islam

Although many people view mathematics and religion as two separate fields, Islam actually integrates science with the values of faith. This article aims to examine how mathematics can be harmonized with the Quran through the lens of Islamic thought, and to explore the mathematical concepts contained in the holy book. The approach used is literature review, examining Quranic verses containing mathematical elements and referring to the views of Muslim scholars. The results of this research indicate that the Quran includes the concepts of integers and fractions, arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication, as well as unique number patterns, with the number 19 being particularly important. Mathematics also plays a crucial role in practicing Islamic worship, such as determining the direction of the Qibla, calculating zakat (alms), settling inheritance distribution, and establishing the Hijri calendar. Throughout history, Islamic civilization has made significant contributions to the development of global mathematics through Muslim scientists such as Al-Khawarizmi, who discovered the concepts of algebra and algorithms. From an Islamic perspective, mathematics is viewed as the language of the cosmos, as stated by Allah SWT in the Qur'an. Al-Qamar: 49 states that all creatures were created in a specific measure. Therefore, mathematics and the Quran are closely related, making studying mathematics one way for Muslims to understand the greatness of Allah SWT.
