This study discusses ethical Sufism based on the thoughts of Hasan al-Basri, Al-Muhasibi, Al-Qusyairi, and Al-Ghazali as important figures in the development of Islamic spirituality. This research aims to understand the concept of ethical Sufism and its relevance to modern life. The method used in this study is library research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results show that ethical Sufism focuses on purification of the soul, self-control over desires, and the formation of noble character. Hasan al-Basri emphasized asceticism and awareness of the hereafter, Al-Muhasibi prioritized self-introspection or muhasabah, Al-Qusyairi emphasized the harmony between Sufism and Islamic law, while Al-Ghazali integrated Sufism, sharia, and morality systematically. These values remain relevant in modern life as solutions to moral crises, materialism, and the decline of spiritual awareness in society. Ethical Sufism not only functions as a spiritual teaching but also as a guideline for building human character according to Islamic teachings.
